To the distant right
is the Oresund, the channel between the Baltic and Kattegat,
which ultimately leads to the North Sea. To the right, lined by
boats, is Christianshavns Canal. The area left of the large
white ferries is called Nyhavn or “new harbor”. It is actually a
beautiful old harbor and is full of expensive restaurants and
cafes. Copper is used on the roofs of many churches, government
buildings and old castles. Weathered by the salt air gives
Copenhagen the moniker of “city of green spires.” Copenhagen is
the Capital of Denmark and Scandinavia’s largest city with 1.5
million people.
