photograph features the Portugalís old port city of Lisbon with
many of its beautiful buildings and landmarks. At the far left
on the hill is St. George Castle. Across the bay, which is
formed by the River Tagus as it flows into the Atlantic Ocean,
is Cristo Rei, with arms stretched to welcome visitors. The red
suspension bridge majestically spanning the river and port is
named the April 25th Bridge, so named after the date of the 1974
revolution. Lisbon is scattered with impressive monuments from
the time when Portugal, as the center of a wealthy empire, ruled
over the seven seas.
