This panoramic
photograph features a twilight view of downtown Milwaukee, the
largest city in Wisconsin. The tallest building in the city and
the state of Wisconsin is the 43-story US Bank Center. Just
right of US Bank Center, along the water, is the Milwaukee Art
Museum with its wings open and lit. The wing-like sun screen,
called the Burke Brise Soleil, rests on top of the Museum and is
unprecedented in American architecture, spreading 217 feet at
its widest point. Unless weather prohibits, the wings are opened
when the museum opens each day.
