This panoramic print
features the world-renowned Golden Gate Bridge, connecting San
Francisco (in the background) and Sausalito (left). Completed in
1937, the Golden Gate Bridge spans the Golden Gate Strait
between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. It remains one
of the most recognized bridges in the world. Also left, in San
Francisco Bay, is Alcatraz Island, which previously served as a
federal penitentiary. Visible downtown is the pyramid-shaped
Transamerica building. In the distance is the San Francisco –
Oakland Bay Bridge, which spans San Francisco Bay, connecting
San Francisco and Oakland.
